How will I receive my MYOM activity pack?
As soon as you purchase your pack, an email will be send immediately to the email address you entered during checkout. The email will explain how to use your pack and will also contain links to the backing tracks as well a download link to the PDF activity pack. The activity pack works as a step-by-step guide that helps you to write scenes and songs based on a certain theme. You can print of the pack to write directly onto it, or why not save a few trees and access it directly from your tablet. We use a company called 'Sellfy' which allow us to sell digital products online so this is who will send the purchase email.
Will children need adult supervision and guidance throughout the process?
We recommend that if children under the age of 8 would like to have a go at creating their very own musical, either an adult or an older sibling should help them with the reading and guide them along the way.
Do I need to know anything about writing music to have a go?
Absolutely not! Our packs are designed so that you can easily make up a tune around the backing tracks provided without any prior writing experience.
Do I need to have access to musical instruments?
No. The backing tracks contain all the instrumentation you need to put on your musical. However, if you wanted to grab a guitar and play along, why not?
How long do the performances usually last?
Each pack varies slightly, and of course it depends on the length of the scenes you write, but usually the performance lasts between 20 - 30 minutes.
Are my children too young to use these packs?
We aim these packs at young people aged between 6 and 14. We recommend that if children under the age of 8 would like to have a go at creating their very own musical, either an adult or an older sibling should help them with the reading and guide them along the way. Who's to say that younger siblings (and maybe even parents) can't join in though?!
Do you offer group discounts?
We offer various licenses available for larger groups, i.e. schools, drama groups or councils. Visit our ORGANISATIONS page for more information and to enquire.
How do I access the backing tracks?
On the purchase email from 'Sellfy' will be a link to our track page. On the page, you can find all the tracks for your performance, including guide tracks for writing and backing tracks for the big performance. Enter the password on the front cover of your pack to access these tracks. We also recommend that you use a speaker for the final performance.
Should I buy a solo pack or a group pack?
Solo packs are designed to be written as a one-person show, whereas group packs are designed for as big a cast as you can get in your living room!
